Roy The Boy previews the World Seniors Snooker and he thinks Tony Knowles is overpriced to beat Jonathan Bagley.
Tony has the Knowhow in the Snooker Seniors
Snooker’s World Seniors Championship starts on Wednesday. The format for the 2017 edition has changed dramatically this year meaning no ‘tour players’ are eligible to compete.
Stephen Hendry’s return to the green baize will be fascinating. He is one of four players that have been fast-tracked into the quarter finals alongside, Dennis Taylor, John Parrot and Cliff Thorburn.
But the best betting opportunity comes in a first-round match on Wednesday evening when Tony Knowles plays Jonathan Bagley. 7/4 is available with Betstars about Knowles who was once World Ranked No. 2.
The worth of that form, which stretches back to the 1984/85 season, is worthless but Bagley, who is 15 years Knowles junior has never hit the headlines and faces an opponent who is a regular feature on the exhibition and ‘snooker legends’ tour.
Suffice to say when two players who are hard pushed to post a 40 break face-off in a ‘best of 5 frame’ game you cannot place a bet in confidence but we are positive in our belief that Knowles is never a 7/4 shot.
