The Voice UK has reached the knockout rounds and last weekend it resulted in a shake-up in the outright betting with two outsiders making it through to the live shows. Ultimately four acts went through to the ‘live shows’ (eight eliminated) and an additional four more will do so next weekend.
Team Olly’s Jimmy Balito progressed courtesy of his rendition of Radiohead’s ‘High & Dry’. Paying tribute to his late father who passed away recently, Balito struck a chord with punters who rushed to support the singer who is now 5/1 generally.
Another outsider who progressed was Team Will’s NXTGEN who sung ‘Runnin (Lose it All)’ by Naughty Boy featuring Beyoncé. The act is now 10/1.
Nicole Dennis, who has not yet taken part in the live rounds, is the market leader at 3/1 best with Paddy Power. It’s a short price given she has one more hurdle to jump than some of her rivals. That includes Moya (representing Jennifer Hudson) who booked her place in the live shows on Saturday. She's a tempting 5/1.
