Strictly Come Dancing Betting Preview

Roy The Boy looks at Strictly Come Dancing and he is opposing Jay McGuiness with Peter Andre and Katie Derham

Strictly for the Slow Burners

Soap website whatsontv.co.uk is running a poll as to who should/will win Strictly Come Dancing 2015 and, unsurprisingly, Jay McGuinness currently polls 25 percent of 1,700+ votes cast by their visitors.

With 14 people remaining in the competition, 25 percent is a very big share of the vote, but what would you expect from a contestant that is currently trading as the 11/10 favourite?

Last week ‘The Wanted’ band-member put up a stunning performance (scoring a ‘perfect 10’) which saw his odds tumble from 3/1; he started the competition as a 10/1 proposition.

However, the history books conclusively show a ‘slow-burning’ improver invariably fares well in this competition and early favourites do badly.  Exhibit A:  Pixie Lott in 2014’s series - she never finished in the top-three.

What’s more it was Peter Andre, a far better known celebrity who is sure to bombard the British televisual viewing public with his infinite “shop at Iceland this Christmas” commercials in the build-up to Strictly’s grand-final, that actually topps whatsontv’s poll with a 30 percent approval rating.

Therein it is Andre that gets the Betswot recommendation at a whopping 4/1 (he has traded as low as 7/4) with Manchester United sponsors Marathonbet and UK retail chain Coral,

As a small saver a play on Katie Derham may be prudent with Boylesports offering 15/2 about newsreader.
