Roy The Boy looks ahead to the Chelmsford Stakes at Royal Randwick and he is having a bet at 11/4 on Epsom Derby 3rd Storm the Stars to place behind the super mare Winx.
Storm in for the 11/4 Place Money for former British Star in Royal Randwick
Epsom Derby third ‘Storm The Stars’ is well over-priced at 11/4 for a place in tomorrow morning’s Chelmsford Stakes in Royal Randwick (live on At The Races).
He’ll not be good enough to press the super-mare, Winx, for the victory. The mare, unbeaten in her last ten (nine of which were in Group company) is a class apart but the four-year-old should now be ready to show some of his best British form following three runs in his new country. The trip of 1 mile is definitely on the short side, but that may not stop him filling one of the two places.
He’s now trained by Chris Waller who also handles the favourite and four other runners in the six-runner field but he is not responsible for another former British runner, Hartnell, however.
And it is a line through this runner, who is 10/1 to lower Winx’s colours tomorrow, that we have to conclude Bet365’s 11/4 about Storm The Stars making the frame is simply too big.
Technically the 33/1 each way with William Hill is the better bet as you will get 2.8/1 for your overall stake ifhe places and you have the chance of getting the win. However the win possibilities are remote. In addition the chances of getting a meaningful stake on at 33/1 each way in a race with a 1/6 favourite is also remote and your account is more likely to be factored afterwards.
Sacrifice the 0.05/1 on the return and have a bigger bet on the place market. The race will be live on ATR at the convenient time of 6:50am.
