Rag2gar previews week 4 of the NFL and his advised bets include Green Bay Packers, unders in total points in San Francisco and the Thursday clash between Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
Week 4 Preview:
Week four of the NFL season is upon us and it's no surprise to see that the two most impressive offences in the league are now joined together at the top of the market for Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco.
Both the Green Bay Packers and the reigning champion New England Patriots have both been nothing short of awesome so far this campaign. With two of the best quarterbacks in the business, it comes as no surprise that both of these offences have been tearing the league apart so far this year. Not only are both teams 3 and 0, but their six wins have included some very tough competition in that as well.
This week the Green Bay Packers get to inflict some more pain on the crestfallen San Francisco 49ers, while the New England Patriots take a much deserved bye-week. I think the Packers are unlikely to take their foot off the gas and the trip to San Francisco should be another high scoring affair. The combination of a poor 49ers team and an explosive Green Bay offence means I like both the over 48.5 total points and the Packers -7.5 this week.
Thursday night football sees the 0 and 3 Ravens desperately look for reprieve as they take on the Ben Roethlisberger-less Steelers in what I predict will be a low scoring affair. Only 18 paltry points were put on the board last week when Pittsburgh travelled to St. Louis and without their star quarterback offensive production will be even more strained this week. The Ravens will be cunningly aware that points are of a premium in this one and will likely take few risks on offensive themselves. For that reason I very much like the under 44 points here.
Not a whole lot else jumping out on the week four card other than to say that the Kansas City Chiefs will likely enjoy facing a far less powerful 3 and 0 team in the Cincinnati Bengals this week. The Chiefs defence is far stronger than they showed on Monday night and I think they are much more equally matched with the Bengals than their 4 point handicap suggests. Expect them to make a game of this one in Ohio.
