Roy The Boy previews Stage 10 of the Tour De France and believes the steep mountain finish will provide the opportunity for Nairo Quintana to stake his yellow jersey claim.
The Climbing Columbian will ease his way into contention on Tuesday
Tour de France second favourite and winner of last year’s Giro d’Italia, Nairo Quintana, has to be backed to win the Tour de France’s Stage 10 on Tuesday, despite it being Bastille Day, when many will expect a French winner.
The Pyrénées is where the 25-year-old Columbian will shine and this stage, the first foray into the mountains, is where he can be expected to put his name towards the head of the General Classification standings.
Race favourite, 2013 winner Chris Froome, already heads the leader-board (trading at odds-on to win the race) and so Quintana will be keen to both win the stage and take time off of the Team SKY rider.
A demanding final ascent is tailor-made for his style and in a stage where only three riders are understandably priced under double-figures (Froome is 15/8 and Rodriquez is between 7/1 and 10/1) this looks a straight match.
