The Messenger previews Monday's racing and he has two bets from Kempton.
The form in this contest is set by the Richard Hannon trained Castellated and she ran a decent race on her debut at Leicester when 3rd to Coronet. However she is bred to stay middle distances and looked to need the mile at the very least last time. That was on a stiff Leicester track and she is now dropping in trip and running at a sharper venue here.
Choumicha will attract interest as a full sister to Galileo Gold, but the one of interest is the Roger Varian trained Pyjamarama even if the name is unfortunate. Unlike many Meon Valley bred fillies, she has quite a speedy pedigree being by a sire who gets fast horses and out of a mare that won over 6 furlongs as a 2 year old. Varian has his horses in good from and can get them to win first time out and she looks interesting here at 7/1.
1 point each way Pyjamarama at 7/1 with Bet365 and Paddy Power
The second bet on a Kempton card where most of the interest is in the maidens, is on the Jamie Osborne trained Shamshon in this 6 furlomng handicap. The son of Invincible has won only once this season, when he was a winner over 5 furlongs at Chelmsford, but he has run some creditable races since then, including when 4th at Sandown and Ascot. Last time he was well backed in the Portland at Doncaster, but things did not really fall his way and after being set with a little too much to do after travelling well, he was also on the unfavoured side of the track based on the raceday evidence.
He drops in class here to a Class 3 and has also been eased 1lb in the ratings. This sharp 6 furlongs should be no problem and he is of interest at 3/1 with William Hill.
1 point win Shamshon at 3/1 with William Hill
