Rag2gar previews the final week of the League phase of the Premier League Darts and is advising bets on Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson.
Taylor v Wade
An exhibition match to open the final week of the Premier League darts league phase sees a most unlikely candidate in Phil Taylor take on probably an equally disappointed opponent in James Wade. These matches are kind of ridiculous really as both players have absolutely nothing to play for. A meaningless contest is not the easiest to bet on but I must admit I do think Taylor looks a bit of value at the prices. I know we haven't seen the best of him of late but Taylor is still a formidable opponent who can be very tough to beat. I think he can weigh down on Wade here and grab an end of season victory.
2 points win Phil Taylor to beat James Wade at 4/5 with Betway and Bet365
Van Barneveld v Bunting
It's been several weeks now that Stephen Bunting has been playing for "pride only" and is probably getting used to throwing insignificant darts at this stage. Although Raymond Van Barneveld is now safely through to this year's playoffs he does have something to play for in that he has the potential to move up to third with a win here. I'm starting to get fed up betting on Van Barneveld's games as I keep getting them wrong one way or another. I do think he'll get the win here but I'm going to pass up the opportunity of having a bet this time.
Lewis v Anderson
With a lovely win last week Adrian Lewis is finding form at just the wrong time and will be disappointed to be making his farewell to the competition tonight. For Gary Anderson this is an important game is he wants to avoid facing Van Gerwen in the semis. I think Anderson needs this one more and I expect him to get at least a point on the back of probably a week of intensive practice. I think the draw no bet route is the best way to go here as I think the draw itself is very live but Anderson May just shade this one by a whisker I think.
1 point win Gary Anderson to beat Adrian Lewis draw no bet at 8/11 with BetVictor and Paddy Power
Michael Van Gerwen v Dave Chisnall
The last match of this year's Premier League is a top of the table clash to see who will finish first in this year's table. A win or a draw will be enough for Michael Van Gerwen but for those who have backed the green machine to top the table ante post; this is a most unwelcome league-topping decider. I'm somewhat amazed that Dave Chisnall is only one win away from topping this year's table but credit where it's due he has far surpassed his expected results and don't be surprised if he nicks it on the line here. MVG is starting to falter of late and if he doesn't start fast here it could be Chisnall who stands aloft of the table as we head to the playoffs. For me, this will be a case of crossing the fingers and hoping MVG can get the point he needs. However I wouldn't put anyone off having a punt on Chisnall who will be all out for the win here.
