Rag2gar previews Week 9 of the Premier League Darts and he has bets on Dave Chisnall, Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Michael Van Gerwen.
James Wade v Gary Anderson
Wade and Anderson kick off this week's Premier League darts in Cardiff and both of these players have done well in the event so far. Anderson lies equal on points with Van Gerwen and Taylor at the top of the Premier League while Wade lies just two points adrift in fifth. Needless to say that on present form there's not much between these two. However on the head to heads Anderson hasn't lost to Wade in their last ten meetings. This is sure to be an advantage and should give him the edge here. However I think this is very much reflected in the prices available and for me this one is a no bet.
Michael Smith v Phil Taylor
Smith is one of three players facing relegation this week and he is almost surely heading for the drop zone after what has been a most disappointing debut in the Premier League this year. Taylor on the other hand has probably been the player of the season so far having shown great determination throughout, the polar opposite of what we have seen from the opponent he faces this week. Smith had a glorious opportunity to save his season last week but once again disappointed as he bowed out with another poor performance against Robert Thornton. Expect Taylor to show Smith the exit door here.
Dave Chisnall v Peter Wright
Chisnall is another man facing the drop this week and he will probably be flabbergasted that he has found himself in such a precarious position. One of the players of the year last season, Chisnall has lost a lot of close matches this year and could really do with a win to save his season here. I think he's going to do just that and looks a spot of value here in all markets. I have long argued that there isn't much between Chisnall and Wright and I will always take either of these if one is a substantial underdog and that is exactly what we have here with Dave Chisnall. He should have every chance this week and if he can get his scoring going, and that's what you would expect from a man battling to survive, he should really get the win this week. Take a chance on him in both the draw no bet and straight win markets here.

Robert Thornton v Adrian Lewis
After last week's crucial win, Robert Thornton may be safe from relegation by the time this match starts. If he isn't he might need another heroic performance this week if he's going to survive. Lewis has been one of the forgotten men in this year's Premier League quietly going about his business and winning five out of his eight games. This should be another win for the Stoke on Trent ace as he attempts to climb up the table. Expect him to outscore the Scot here and put this game to bed early.

Raymond Van Barneveld v Michael Van Gerwen
The last match of the night sees an eagerly awaited rematch of the epic World Championship third round match last Christmas which saw Van Barneveld score a shock victory over his fellow countryman. I would imagine Van Gerwen has been waiting quite anxiously for the chance to avenge that defeat and that's exactly what he has this week. Following another victory on the tour last weekend in Germany, you can assume MVG will be primed and ready for retribution here. I find it hard to imagine that he won't turn the tables and get a win this time around. I also expect nothing short of a devastating performance in doing so too.
