Rag2gar previews Week 15 of the Premier League Darts in Rotterdam and he likes Robert Thornton, Gary Anderson, Peter Wright and a 9 dart finish in Taylor v Van Gerwen.
Robert Thornton v James Wade
The final week of the regular season opens with what is essentially an exhibition match as both Robert Thornton and James Wade have absolutely nothing to play for. Both Thornton and Wade were demolished last week against Anderson and Wright respectfully and neither will want to bow out with another humiliation tonight.
My first instinct is that Wade is a bit too short in this one. Yes he is the better of the two players but I'm not sure if his advantage is significant enough to justify his odds being so short. I'm going to take on Wade here and take Thornton on the handicaps. I think he could win but I would be very surprised if he can't at least win five legs here.Wade is not playing well enough at the moment to dominate any opponent.
3 points win R. Thornton to beat J. Wade at 8/11 with Ladbrokes.
Adrian Lewis v Gary Anderson
A repeat of the 2016 World Championship final is second up in Rotterdam and what a great game this should be. Anderson starts as slight favourite, which I think is entirely justifiable given how he played last week and has played generally this year. I think there's going to be 180s from the opening leg in this one. There might even be legs with two 180s. What's more I think there's going to be at least 11 legs. I think playing the overs in the 180s and Anderson for the win is the bets to do here. Good chance you could win both bets which is exactly what you want.

Phil Taylor v Michael Van Gerwen
Third game up this week is a battle between the two biggest names in darts for a chance to finish top of this year's Premier League table. And as if that wasn't spicy enough, Van Gerwen gets to play his arch nemesis in front of a home crowd live in Holland. Both Phil Taylor and Michael Van Gerwen cruised to victory last week and this should really be a spectacular game. Both are within touching distance of their best game and this really will be the pinnacle of the sport on show. It looks to be priced perfectly correctly with Van Gerwen a 4/6 favourite. Van Gerwen won the Gibraltar darts trophy last weekend and there is no doubt that he is the best player in darts. But Taylor is the best there has ever been and he's playing much better this year. Hard to have a bet in this one but I do think the 20/1 about a 9 dart finish is too big. Unlikely as it may be both are more than capable of hitting one and Van Gerwen was only one dart away from hitting one last week.
1 point win a 9 dart finish in the P. Taylor v M. Van Gerwen game at 20/1 with Bet365
Peter Wright v Raymond Van Barneveld
Peter Wright was a warm order favourite last week over Wade and if he can beat Wade 7-1 he can certainly beat Barney too. The Dutchman has been lacklustre this season and Wright could well be playing for a playoff spot here. Hard to imagine he hasn't been trying for his life this week in practice either way. I see Wright winning this comfortably based on what we saw last week. It appears he has finally stopped tinkering with his darts which is a huge relief for those who want to back him. Expect him to be too good for Barney here.
