Rag2gar previews Finals Night in the Premier Laeague Darts and he is expecting to see Michael Van Gerwen beat Phil Taylor in the final.
Premier League Darts Finals Night
So this is it, the culmination of this year's Premier League darts. Michael Van Gerwen has made winning tournaments a routine so far this year and now he has a chance to add his first TV major of 2016. The Dutchman has been imperious once again this year in the league phase having only three times dropped below a 100 average in the 15 weeks of the regular season. He enters final's night as a most worthy favourite and personally I find it hard to see how he won't lift the title for the second time in his career later on tonight. At 4/6 he looks a much better prospect to back than to lay and I would be very surprised if he can be stopped in this slightly longer, no draw possibility, final's format.

Van Gerwen v Lewis
Michael Van Gerwen looks to have got the pick of the draw too thanks to his table topping win over Phil Taylor last week and he takes on Adrian Lewis in the first semi-final in a match he really should win. Lewis could only average a paltry 93 in his 7-2 win last week and he will need to score much higher this week if he's to have any chance tonight.
These two do tend to feed off each other as they both like to throw at a super fast pace. This will give Lewis a chance, but it certainly plays into mighty Mike's hands too. I know it seems like I'm tipping over on the 180s every week, but there just has to be a shed load in this one.
10.5 is an easy target and they should easily go over this tonight. I think Van Gerwen will hit 7 or 8 on his own and Ade Lewis is one of the heaviest 180 hitters in the sport. This match could have over 20 180s in it and I'm not exaggerating. So expect high scoring from the outset but ultimately an MVG win.

Taylor v Anderson
The second semi-final looks a far tighter affair with second place Phil Taylor taking on third in the league Gary Anderson for a place in the Premier League darts final. Anderson was unmercifully poor last week against Adrian Lewis and it comes as somewhat of a surprise he's so close to Taylor in the betting for this one.
I guess the market is worried about the possibility of a big Gary Anderson performance, which could happen but overall I'd much rather stick with current form over hypothetical form in darts. Taylor has certainly been the better of the two players of late and I think he's going to make the final here tonight. A worthy favourite who's worth backing at the odds available. However no matter who wins this I can't see either of them beating MVG in the final.
