Jimmy Mcginty previews NFL Thanksgiving game between the Colts and the Steelers and he is siding withthe Steelers on handicap and Eli Rogers anytime touchdown.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts
In the late game (don’t worry about work on Friday lads) the Steelers host the Colts. I mentioned last week how I’m eager to be on the Steelers side for upcoming games. They promptly hammered the Browns but I get the feeling the Browns were saved a thrashing by the weather. It was very windy in Cleveland so the Steelers fed Bell often rather than airing it out. The results were still positive but limited the damage somewhat.
The Colts look set to start Scott Tolzien at QB as Andrew Luck deals with a concussion. Luck was keeping the Colts together, without him they’ve no chance. Tolzien isn’t very good and on a short week he’ll have even less chance to be ready. However the Colts dodgy defense seems to have improved recently. Mike Adam being at full fitness a big boost no doubt.
Last week I tipped Eli Rogers to have a big part in the Steelers offense. It didn’t happen but that was mostly down to the wind dictating a running game was the way forward. The Colts stopped the run fairly well last Sunday so Big Ben should be attacking through the air on Thursday. And as the Colts will do nothing with the ball I’d imagine the Steelers will get amble opportunity to score.
1 pts win Eli Rogers First TD Scorer at 14/1 with Betfred and Stan James
2pts win Eli Rogers anytime TD scorer at 2/1 with BetVictor
I fancy the Steelers to cover an 8pt spread. It is a lot for a team with an average road record against an improving defense who may play above themselves to cover for their missing star QB but I just don’t see the Colts moving the chains too often and the Steelers have so many ways to score.
3pts win Steelers -7.5pts at 10/11 with Betfred and Stan James
