Frazzled looks at the bumper at Chepstow on Tuesday and he likes the 10/1 about the Tim Vaughan trained Norwegian Woods.
The market for this race is headed by an interesting newcomer for Paul Nicholls in the shape of Eason and on pedigree he merits plenty of respect. However he looks short enough and looks one to take on at the prices.
As we look down the market, none of the next few horses make much appeal, with Doctor Drex looking a stayer and he has already had 3 chances and Westbury looks to have plenty on here under a penalty for winning a Huntingdon bumper that did not look strong and was one that Full Bore would have won well if he was not so green throughout.
Westerly Wind has a really nice pedigree but the one of interest here is Norwegian Woods. He hails fro m the in form Tim Vaughan team and was particularly impressive when winning his point at Loughanmore in March, where he travelled really strongly and quickened up impressively when asked by Jamie Codd between the last two. Loughanmore has produced numerous talented track performers and all the big stable were represented. There is little doubt that he would have been well tuned up for this coming from the Dennis Paul Murphy yard, but he looks like he could be a very decent prospect and showed enough pace to suggest a bumper is well within his grasp. He is a small type and may prove a bumper/hurdling type and I would expect that he will be well prepped for this assignment. He looks worth an interest at 10/1.
