Rag2gar previews Week 9 of the NFL and is advising bets on Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts and is going against the Dallas Cowboys with the Philidelphia Eagles.
Week nine in the NFL means we are now over half way through the regular season, but what have we learned so far? Well I guess the first thing you can say we've learned is that the defending champion New England Patriots are still very much the team to beat this year. All roads lead through them with regards this year's Super Bowl. They are the defending champs and have arguably looked even better this year. The Denver Broncos booked a huge win against the Green Bay Packers last week to really cement their unbeaten start. And perhaps the surprise package is the unbeaten runs of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Carolina Panthers so far.
This week it's the Panthers that have the chance to frank their unbeaten form if they can do what the Denver Broncos did last week and beat the highly regarded Green Bay Packers. Personally I'm still sceptical about the Panthers. They have a great rushing game but that's about it. The Packers have been struggling to fire on offence lately but that just cannot continue. Aaron Rodgers is too talented. Expect them to get something going on offence this week and put this game to bed.
Another interesting match-up this Sunday is the unbeaten Broncos trip to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Colts. The Colts suffered another loss Sunday night but there's no doubt they're getting better. This is another tricky hurdle that the Broncos must jump to keep their unbeaten run going. They may well do it but I think it will be workman like if they do. I like the Colts on the five point handicap here and that's my bet of the week.
The big Sunday night game is a huge NFC East clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. Not even the biggest pessimist would have thought the Cowboys were going to lose every game following Tony Romo's injury but that's the reality they face going into the second half of the season. Dez Bryant's return to the field this week is most welcome but the team still desperately needs Romo. His return is edging ever closer but until then they will remain underdogs and I think the Philadelphia Eagles will beat them here.
