Rag2gar previews week 5 of the NFL and he has advised bets on Denver, New England, New York Giants, Seattle and overs in the Indianapolis v Houston game.
It's safe to say that the Seattle Seahawks have not started this year's campaign with much authority. Opening their season with back to back losses, they stutter-stepped their way to a 0.500 record with a most fortunate victory over the Detroit Lionson Monday night.
However week five could be a fresh start for the original Super Bowl favourites. Underdogs to the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle will see this as an ideal opportunity to get their season back on track. For years the Bengals have struggled under the limelight. Pressure is a great leveller in football and expect the 4-0 Bengals to come undone with the sheer weight of expectation they face this weekend. The Seahawks may have struggled to find ignition so far on offence ranking 18th in the NFL, but that's going to change pretty soon. I think it'll be this weekend.
The Denver Broncos continue to put wins on the board and expect them to go 5 and 0 when they travel to Oakland this Sunday. Peyton Manning, who incidentally was the finest quarterback in the league not so long ago, seems to be holding it together pretty well for a guy who nobody talks about any more. He may not be Aaron Rodgers out of the pocket, but himself and new coach Gary Kubiak seem to be dialling up all the right numbers on offence. I cannot see how the Raiders will be the ones to turn them over and for me it looks like the Broncos are the bet of the week.
Elsewhere we have a 40 year old quarterback in Matt Hasselbeck likely to start for the Colts when they travel to Houston tonight. That's not to say he'll finish there and if Luck comes in any stage this one will have plenty of points for sure. Maybe even a Colts victory. Either way I think the spread looks quite low at 40 and I'll be chancing a bet on the overs here.
As for the other TV games this week, you would have to imagine New England will inflict more pain on Dallas as will the Giants on the 49ers. The double of those two at 8/11 with matchbook looks a solid bet to me.
4 pts win Seattle Seahawks to beat the Cincinnati Bengals at 6/4 with Skybet.
8 pts win Denver Broncos to beat the Oakland Raiders at 1/2 with Boylesports.
2 pts win over 40 points in the Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans game at 10/11 with Betway.
3 pts double New England Patriots and New York Giants both to win at 8/11 with Matchbook
