Teaplanter has a number of bets on Saturday including Mount Rushmore and Highland Lodge. May be more to follow.
This looks a lovely opportunity for the giamt Mount Rushmore. An Irish point winner, who loves soft ground, he showed useful form over hurdles, attaining a rating of 127, despite never really getting to show what he could do under less than optimal conditions. He has been crying out for fences and should enjoy the increased stamina test here. With solid course form and the promise of considerable improvement now that he gets to tackle fences, he looks a decent bet here at 10/1
Aintree 1:30 - Highland Lodge
Highland Lodge does not stay the National trip, but loves this course and won this very race in 2015. We have only seen him rarely since then, but he did make this line up for the past two years – being caught on the line by Vieux Lion Rouge in 2016 and a respectable third to Blaklion last year. He has been dropped 3lbs since that run which gives him a chance and he has few miles on the clock for a 12yo. He is sure to have been trained with this race in mind as his main seasonal target, so the lack of a recent run is no worry.
1.5 points win Mount Rushmore at 10/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power
0,75 points each way Highland Lodge at 14/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power
