Taking the Turbo to kick in at Hove
It’s a busy old time on the greyhound front with plenty of Category 1 races being staged during March. At Hove Thursday’s Coral Winter Derby looks a straight match between King Turbo and Sporting Dave. Both have won major competitions around the Sussex circuit but they are drawn alongside each other and Hove’s new 490 metre trip makes the negotiating the opening-bend vital.
Droopys Nirvana who runs from trap 6 is plotted up, he’s the only wide-seed and has a slow starter on his inner. The trouble is, he not the class of the ‘big two’. Given King Turbo has the red vest and has won around Hove in every box apart from the stripes, I’m going to have him over the locally-trained Sporting Dave in what could be a thrilling buckle. Just 13/8 at William Hill, King Turbo can be backed at 9/4 with Paddy Power.

Lay the Aussies in Eurovision
While you are at Paddy Power take a look at their market on ‘Australia in the Eurovision’. There you will find they are offering odds on Australia’s finishing position. They have finished fifth, second, ninth and 20th in their respective four previous appearances and given the novelty of their participation has now worn off, they are unlikely to fill the top-10 with this year’s entry.
Their song, Zero Gravity, performed by Kate Miller-Heidke, is not catchy by any means, it is not sing-along and it has operatic undertones. That’s pretty much everything voters (both public and judging panels) do not like. Take some of Power’s 5/4 about them finishing between 11th and 20th.
