Jupiter Light could be second Gosden winning newcomer

The Messenger believes Jupiter Light could be second Gosden winning newcomer at Leicester after the stable struck with impressive Coronet earlier.

Leicester 4:35

Elucidation is very popular in the market and has been backed in to odds on in this maiden after the withdrawal of a few rivals. This is not hugely surprising after an encouraging debut at Newmarket 11 days ago and given that the market will expect a Michael Stoute juvenile to improve for its racecourse debut.

However the horse that excites on pedigree here and has a Derby entry is the John Gosden trained Jupiter Light. The son of Lonhro is out of the high class mare Fantasia. She won on her racecourse debut and was second in the Fillies mile at two years. She has also produced a racecourse debutant winner earlier this year with Tasit and on breeding Jupiter Light should be ready to do himself justice on his racecourse debut. Gosden already introduced a nice looking prospect in Coronet earlier on the Leicester Tuesday card and we will take a chance that this is another smart juvenile in his care.

Advised Bet:

1 point win Jupiter Light at 7/2 with Betfair and BetVictor

Galway 7:25

The Galway card makes little appeal today, but the bumper throws up an appealing bet, even if it is at odds on. The Willie Mullins trained Borboleta might not have beaten a great deal at Ballinrobe in debut, but was impressive and is hard to oppose here. However with the remainder of the field looking quite moderate, The Birdie Crowe should at the very least follow the favourite home.

After winning at Punchestown in May, The Birdie Crowe was not given a great ride by Kate Harrington last time when 4th at this venue during race week. She may lack a little pace, but was left with plenty to do before the home turn in a better race than this and she stayed on strongly to the line to be beaten just over 3 lengths by Mountain Rock and First Figaro. That looks decent form for this time of year and if more use of her is made here then she could give the favourite something to think about. However the 10/11 without Borboleta is what appeals as the best bet.

Advised Bet:

1.5 points win The Birdie Crowe at 10/11 with William Hill
