Lonesharkoy thinks that Monaghan will dominate the Ulster semi with Fermanagh and are goodvalue to concede no goals.
Fermanagh vs Monaghan
When your columnist was new to the sports betting game, starting out as a fresh faced graduate in the odds compilation industry many moons ago, there was a learning curve that had to be followed when it came to making a profit from one’s personal trading.
The first, crucial step was to document all bets and to identify if certain sports were a drag on the overall numbers (that was the end of any golf punting for yours truly!) but the second was to really examine bets afterwards, and to identify if the logic behind them was sound. Of course, the core aspect of whether the bet won or lost was always key, but as any experienced bettor will tell you, you can’t eat value – sometimes a little bit of luck is preferable.
Still, a past bet that ticked all the boxes but didn’t come home was our selection on Monaghan to be the only team that scored a goal against Tyrone, and we’re going along similar lines today.
Total Fermanagh goals in tomorrow’s Ulster semi-final is available at even money under 0.5 with Boylesports, and that has to be backed.
Even including Tyrone’s contentious late strike in Clones last time out, Monaghan have conceded two goals in their last eight competitive games. Fermanagh, who themselves have scored three goals in their last seven competitive games, don’t exactly have the firepower to break them down. Rory Gallagher’s side made it quite clear what way they’re going to play in their quarter-final win over Armagh, and it’s highly unlikely that they’ll try push up on the in-form Farney men tomorrow. This really should be a 4/6 shot, or possibly even shorter.
