BDO World Darts Preview – Madars to beat Robson

Roy The Boy previews Tuesday's first round match in the BDO World Darts and he has a strong fancy for Madars Ramza to upset favourite Gary Robson.

Madars can extinguish former light Robson in BDO opening round

Bookmakers are betting pretty blind on BDO’s World Championships, as they are without the plethora of stats and in-depth results which they depend on for the rival PDC tour.

Therein mistakes in the opening rounds of the ongoing 2016 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship can be expected and they appear to have cropped up.

The biggest stand-out is Tuesday’s match between Gary Robson and Madars Razma.  Robson is the No. 13 seed, but he is also 48-years-of-age and chronically out of form.

Whilst not seeded (only the top-16 are) Razma, a 27-year-old Latvian who was defeated 4-3 in the second round of this competition last year, has been very active on the BDO circuit this year.  He won the Scottish Classic in June and has made the final or semi-final of five other tournaments during the season.  He was world-ranked 20 at the competition close and is now ranked 14!

Favourite, Gary ‘Big Robbo’ Robson, is a three time quarter finalist in the BDO World’s, but that form was a long time ago and on all-important recent results his price, not alone status as favourite, cannot be justified.
