Rag2gar struck with all of his NFL bets in Week 7 and he previews Week 8 action with 4 bets advised including the Patriots on Thursday night against the Dolphins.
Tom Brady described the Miami Dolphins as "talented" this week ahead of their Thursday night match-up but it is his own New England Patriots that has looked by far the most talented team in the AFC so far this season. The undefeated Patriots are now as short as even money to appear again in this year's Super Bowl and looking at their remaining fixtures it's hard to see who is going to stop them. After overcoming another significant test last week against the Jets, it seems like whatever question the Patriots are asked, they have the answer. I cannot see how the Dolphins, talented as they may be, are going to be able to outfox the Super Bowl champs this week either. Expect the Patriots to continue their stellar start to the season with another win here by at least one touchdown.
The highlight of an interesting week eighth card takes place at Mile High Stadium on Sunday night when the undefeated and highly talented Green Bay Packers take on the also undefeated but not so highly touted Denver Broncos. It is quite incredible just how little has been made of the Broncos 6 and 0 start to the season. Yes they may have been facing weak opposition but six wins is still six wins. I guess this week is the acid test. If they beat the Packers this Sunday nobody will be able to deny that they are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. And I think they will. Surprisingly, It's the Denver Broncos defence which have been the star performers of their roster so far this year. They have allowed both fewest passing yards and fewest total yards so far this season of any team in the NFL. This is the last team the Green Bay Packers will want to face. If the Broncos defence can limit Rodgers' passing yards as the stats suggest they might, three or four touchdowns might be enough to win this. I expect Manning to do this and get his Broncos to the finish line here.
Monday night football sees the Indianapolis Colts travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers and I think the away team look a lovely bet at the odds available. It's fair to say the Colts haven't caught fire yet this season in the NFL but this week could well be the week they do and at 5/2 the make plenty of appeal. They have an extremely talented roster on offence that is just so much better than their rank of 24th in the NFL. Now's a good time to take a chance on them while you can get some inflated odds.
Elsewhere the Jets look a nice bet to overturn the Raiders in Oakland. I was impressed with how the Jets handled themselves for the first three quarters of their game last week against the Patriots. As I have been at how well they've handled themselves this season as a whole. Think they'll be too strong for the Raiders here and they're my bet of the week.
Finally, the London game this week is a tricky one between two struggling teams in the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions make more appeal at the odds available but for me it's a no bet.
