Lonesharkoy previews the All Ireland Club Football semi final between Ballyboden St Endas and Clonmel Commercials and he expects a tight game with the draw appealing as value.
We are going for a draw bet in the All Ireland Club Football semi final.
The 8/1 about Clonmel Commercials and Ballyboden St Endas finishing level appeals as value here. As anyone who witnessed the Dublin champions last November will know, they simply aren’t of the same standard as your average Dublin winner and both Portlaoise and St Lomans should have been able to take advantage of the opportunity that this offered. Neither did, despite going quite close, and that’s why Ballyboden will represent Leinster this Sunday. Yet here too, it appears as if reputation – in this instance, the reputation of the two counties – is being factored into the price.
The Dublin side will have a huge edge in terms of experience and nous. However Commercials players have featured strongly on nearly every Tipperary underage team that has taken the field in recent years and those players are starting to hit their peak now – they certainly won’t lack for quality and neither will they lack self-belief, following the fairy tale ending to their Munster final clash with Nemo Rangers. Expect them to push Ballyboden to the wire and when we also allow for the comparatively low level of scoring that’s likely in this contest, 8/1 about the draw starts to look like a hugely attractive wager with Stan James.
