Previews of Killarney & Ludlow Sunday Bumpers

Teaplanter looks at the concluding bumpers at Killarney and Ludlow on Sunday and identifies each way bets in both.

Ludlow 5:15

Rather Be is all the rage here and an Oscar half brother to the very useful Sign of a Victory, he is likely to take a lot of beating on his debut. However 1/1 is very short about a debutant in a bumper and a few of the Henderson horses have been turned over recently in these races.

When Henry Daly runs a horse in the colours of the Ludlow partnership at Ludlow, it is always worth a second look. When he runs a very well bred newcomer it certainly warrants the closest inspection. Handpicked is a full sister to the talented Handmaid, who won on her second start in bumpers and the fact that she runs here at this stage of the season looks significant. She is certainly bred to have the pace for races of this nature and this does not look the strongest of contests outside of a possibly talented Seven Barrows inmate.

With that in mind, we are recommending an each way bet on Handpicked and a bet without the favourite.

Advised Bets:

1 point each way Handpicked at 13/2 with Betway and Skybet

1 point win Handpicked at 16/5 with Coral (without the favourite)

Killarney 5:55

Willie Mullins continues in outstanding form and the very well Dreambaby could very well be another hugely talented inmate of Closutton. She is a Yeats half sister to Rhinestone Cowboy and Wichita Lineman and if taking after her siblings, she could prove to be hard to beat here.

However we will side with a filly that has already proven that she has a fair level of ability and that is the Sam Vurling trained Ballinderry Moth. She made her debut at Ffos Las last November and showed plenty of talent when second to Bidourey. She hung badly in the straight which may well have cost her the victory as when she consented to run straight she made ground up on the winner and she travelled very well through the race before being asked for her effort. Ffos Las can be like a paddy field when the rain is about so the softening ground at Killarney should be no problem for her and although the configuration of the Killarney track raises some concerns about her hanging again, we would hope that she will have learned plenty from that debut effort and can put it up to the favourite here.

Advised Bets:

1 point each way Ballinderry Moth at 6/1 with Betfred and Bet365

1 point win Ballinderry Moth at 4/1 with William Hill (without the favourite)
